Composition of Chlorella
The effects of Chlorella are linked to the properties of its components which represent a real cocktail of precious elements for the body.
It is very likely that the numerous effects of Chlorella are also due to the synergy of the elements of this cocktail.
Thanks to the synergy of the elements which compose it, the properties of chlorella are multiplied by ten compared to the whole of the properties of the components taken separately.
Average caloric values of the Chlorella Echlorial:
100 g : 1 563 kJ – 373 kCal
3 g : 47 kJ – 11 kCal
The CGF (Chlorella Growth Factor) or Growth Factor
Chlorella contains the famous “CGF” which gives the plant its exceptional development capacities. The CGF would explain the repairing capacities of Chlorella on the tissues of which it would stimulate the production or reconstruction.
Proteins
About 50% of the composition of Chlorella
The very high concentration of proteins and all the essential amino acids promote the functioning of cellular metabolism.
For example, Chlorella contains Tryptophan (about 0.3% of the total dry matter). This amino acid is said to be essential because it is not synthesized by humans, who must include it in their diet.
Tryptophan allows the synthesis of Serotonin. This hormone is precious for the well-being of man, his optimal development with respect to physical and mental performance. It is said that Serotonin is “the hormone of happiness”.
Fibers
About 16% of the composition of Chlorella
The fibrous structure of its membrane makes Chlorella an excellent agent of intestinal transit and helps fight against constipation.
The fibers of Chlorella have the capacity to fix (we also say chelate) toxic elements such as heavy metals (Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, …). The fibers are not assimilated by the body, they are eliminated in the stools. They rid the body of poisons that it has accumulated while stimulating the digestive and intestinal functions.
Chlorella is used as a cleansing, purifying or detoxifying agent for the body.
Lipids
Lipids represent about 10% of the composition of Chlorella
The lipids present in Chlorella are polyunsaturated fatty acids such as alpha-linolenic and linoleic acids (omega 3 and omega 6) which are used as therapeutic agents in the western pharmacopoeia.
Medicines containing it are prescribed for the treatment of certain cardiovascular diseases as well as for the treatment of various skin inflammations.
Minerals
The mineral salts represent approximately 10% of the composition of Chlorella
Mineral compounds such as Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium as well as elements such as iron, zinc and selenium, are essential to the reactions of the cellular metabolism. They also help in the construction of substances such as bones, teeth and nails by promoting better quality and resistance.
Antioxydants
Pigments Chlorophylls, Carotenoids in high content (2 to 5%) but also vitamins …
Chlorophyll is known for its cleansing action, so it is highly recommended during detoxification treatments.
Carotenoids are known for their protective power of the skin but also for their power to prevent AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration), according to studies published by INSERM (interest of beta carotene and lutein).
Phenolic acids (salicylic (vitamin C), caffeic, cinnamic), have analgesic and anti inflammatory effects. Phytosterols (ergosterols and derivatives) are known for their anti cholesterol and anti inflammatory effects.
Vitamins
Vitamin E and carotenoids improve the resistance of cells to aging due to the effects of free radicals. Vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, K and C are present in Chlorella. They are necessary for the proper functioning of the body.
Vitamin B12 is essential for cell growth. It is found exclusively in meat, with the exception of some plants such as microalgae. The latter are therefore indispensable as a complement to vegan or vegetarian diets.
Taking 3 g of Chlorella covers 120% of the human daily requirement in vitamin B12.
